An Echo of His Own

Echo was once a nymph,  cursed to only repeat the sounds and words of others ...

One day,  she met Narcissus.  A beautiful man with no sight beyond himself. Despite this, Echo fell for him, unable to ever make herself known. Narcissus denied and rejected the love of all, and so Echo wasted away to nothingness, leaving only the most treasured part of her, her voice.  

As Narcissus denied those of what they love, he too was denied of all he loved.

But still, after never knowing her he dreams of her voice. His voice. An echo of his own.
